Zambezi Drive was formed in 2006 by Jelmer, Piet and Maarten. A few months later, Tijmen joined the boys after several harsh but successful auditions. They started writing popsongs that are just a bit off. This resulted in some pretty nifty tunes you could dance along with in your underwear, some of which were released on their first EP Park. Now, they’re taking it to the next level, incorporating more instruments, sounds and influences in their songs. Their music has evolved to a more experimental state. Paraphrasing one of music’s greats: “Travelling on the middle of the road soon became a bore, so they headed for the ditch”. And that’s just the way it is.
